After college and once I am working in my career, what will I do to help someone else further his or her education?
Although I think that for someone to further his or her education an individual needs a desire to do it, government and rich people who have money and experience can help a student. Also, surrounding people should support him or her financially and morally. For instance, I will be glad to give to this person reasonable advice, money, and moral support.
To give reasonable advice I will listen to this someone very carefully. If a student wants to know information about my field, economics, or related to my field, I will explain as much as possible but without using many professional jargons. I should use words which are easy to catch for a specific person. Age, educational and cultural backgrounds of a student will be my main criteria of choosing words. For example, “If you like to know more about money, study economics,” I will probably say to a thirteen-year-old teenager. These simple words are easy to understand words for this age. “If you like to analyze economics, make research, and you are good in math, English, and chess, you can consider economics as your field of study,” I will say to a nineteen. I think that a nineteen-year-old individual already knows a little about economics, math, English, chess, and analysis. That is why, he or she should understand me. Since recent immigrants from the former Soviet Union know math better than Americans, I will give to them following advice. ”To do well in economics a student should know math well. Therefore, economics will be an easy subject for you.”
I will give money to this fellow for tuition, fees and transportation. Money is essential condition for receiving education in our society. There are no free of charge colleges in the United States. I had an experience when I wanted to go to college, but I could not afford transportation and textbooks. These few days were the most terrible days in my life. I do not want this will happen again to me or to someone else in the future.
This student should spend my money to college related expenses. He or she should spend money for tuition and fees, textbooks, and transportation. The student can use my money for additional educational books and films. I will encourage a desire to knowledge but not to self destruction and unlimited entertainment. I will be very upset, if an individual is going to spend my money for drugs, alcohol, expensive and unhealthy food and various luxury. To be sure I’ll check that this person does spend my money on education, but not other things than provision. That is why, as a rational sponsor, I should write a check and a letter to a Financial Aid office of the school. In this letter I ‘ll write my desire how a student should spend my money.
Moral support is very important. According to the famous American writer Dale Carnegie How to Succeed in order to succeed any person needs to be surrounded by people who support him or her. My experience proves this statement. A few years ago I talked a lot with my parents who always said that I was unable to study in the college and I had low grades. When I stopped conversations with my parents and surrounded myself with my friends, my grades became better. Because of this experience, I’ll give a student moral support. First, I’ll answer any questions in which I am competent to satisfy a student. Moreover, I’ll congratulate a student by phone and by mail, if this person will pass successfully a term. Also, I will encourage a student to study hard though probably he or she will have problems in school.
