| Busy men, busy life. Where are we going? Why are we rushing? Projects, deadlines, papers, money. We don’t walk, we are running today. Headaches, heart attacks, accidents will they stop us? No, we must be here and there, we must please our bosses. Tell me the men who speak on the issues today? Who works for himself, for community, people? Who is not in rush, and who cares of children? Where is that country of love? Where is that country of peace? Where the place of truth, freedom, and justice? In manufacturing bosses chase workers who come late one minute after start time. One minute for lecture, one minute for warning. Boss tells, “I don’t need your excuses. We fire late people. Next time you are late, next time you are fired.” In office, they want smiles, “manners”, and no questions. One day I ask my senior co-worker, “How to work with these programs?” She answers, “ It is friendly programs. I can not explain 20 years of experience. I am busy.” I tell her “Are you really busy?” She runs to the toilet. I wonder, “You are busy for Halloween, You are busy for Christmas, Why don’t you have time for me? Is she stupid or weird?” I finish my work and drive home to relax. Cars are rushing, cars are busy cutting corners, trucks, and people. I want to call the police, to report bad driving, but why bother police. I am sure they are busy already. I turn on radio, music, news, weather channel. DJ in a rush, one music, one song, few words, advertisements. Are these people on coffee, on drugs? Why they are rushing? Few words on war issues, few love words, few on religion, few on movies. They speak fast, but I only want weather. That is what affects me. I came home and turn on TV. Image after image, pretty, stupid girls, muscle men, metal music. Movies of actions, few words, and tough love. Sitcoms with bad jokes, bad taste, advertisements. I cry when they laugh. I laugh when they cry. “Grace and Will”, “Raymond, Friends”, Who are these people? Only “Simpsons“, only “60 Minutes” make some sense from time to time. I wish I can say what I want from my bosses, my co-workers, TV, radio, life. I wish I have time, but it is time to sleep. |
