One little problem often lead to another, or for some reason bad events happens too often. Part I Last few days are surprise, outrage, out cry! The car overheats in dead cold weather. I switch radiator cap from the hood, but it jumps and falls out, away to the snow. The car is in smoke, yet it calms down after few minutes, I add antifreeze, and drive to the auto mechanic. “Please put new radiator, as soon as you can, and call asap”, I ask him politely. My wife picks me up and I wait news from mechanic from home. Few hours are gone, but my cell phone didn’t ring. The whole day is gone, “What a heck is going on?” I am calling the mechanic: ”Is my car ready?” “No, it is not, I ordered a new radiator, Parts Shop will bring it tomorrow. Your car is disabled.” he replied. “Damn, how I will get to my work tomorrow? Do you give a free car for rental?” “No we don’t.” he replied. Damn, damn, damn. So, I rent a car from Avis, car rental, hidden rip off. The location is close to the mechanic, and the price for rent is $35.00 per day. They offered insurance, and other junk stuff which I declined. I come home at about 7pm to get few hours of sleep. Next day at about 5am when it is dark, cold, windy or ugly in short I see my parking slot empty. “Did somebody steal this expensive Malibu car?” I am going to call 9-11 on my cell phone. I walk few steps further and see a guy in the towing truck. “Did you tow the car? Give me the car back!” I told to the driver. “Your car is already in another location, 20 miles from here, and I am not going to give you a ride to our office. Here is the number to call.” Business card falls, and he disappears like bad angel or good Satan. Damn, I pay to the taxi, I pay $150 to this stupid towing company, and finally go to work, few hours later than usual. Who is going to pay for the lost work hours? I realize why the car was towed, but I am deeply upset anyway. The car did not have a homeowner sticker on it or a temp guest pass. So, condo association called the towing company like it is violation of the condo policy. To be continued. |
